My name is Brittany Kutchera and credit wise, I am technically a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Upon entering the University I received sixteen retro credits for Spanish. I come from New Berlin, Wisconsin where I have worked at Papa Murphy’s for five years, and Golden Gate Restaurant for six months. I came into the University unsure of what I wanted my major to be. With this in mind, I decided to transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee my second year and commute from home to save money. I continued to take general education classes including public speaking when I narrowed down my major to be somewhere in the communications department. Unfortunately, commuting and working a lot more had my grades suffering so I made the wise, academically acclaimed decision to transfer back to Whitewater where I declared my major to be Public Relations and started taking classes toward my major and joining the on campus group PRSSA, public relations student society of America. I have not had the privilege of landing an internship yet because of my indecisiveness to choose a career and the fact that I do not have a vehicle to get to where-ever my internship should be. I plan on hopefully getting an internship this summer to narrow down what exactly what I want to do with Public Relations in the future. I am actually a double major, the other being Spanish, and would love to end up in San Antonio, Texas where I can hopefully use both of my anticipated areas of interest. I do not come from a family that expected me get good grades in school, let alone go to college. Everything I am grasping for is not only to show myself that I can do it, but to show them that they could have done it too. I am no genius and am far from valedictorian, but I am doing what I can to earn my degree and be the first in my family to graduate from a four year college.

ReplyDeleteI can totally tell your love to be in the communications field and your accomplishments in the Spanish field. It's easy to see how driven you are to accomplish graduating within the next year.

I really enjoyed reading your blog. It shows how dedicated you are to graduating college. Its a great accomplishment and i definitely respect the fact that you left one college because your grades were suffering. Shows you know how to prioritize. Great attribute!

I love your ambition! You will do great things, and I'm sure you're well on your way to getting a wonderful internship. Hopefully we'll have some classes together next semester.
